As a Business Controller at Quadrum Capital in Almelo, you will be the driving force behind the design and implementation of reporting and value creation monitoring for both new and existing portfolio companies. You will support these companies on a financial–strategic level, helping them improve their steering, reporting, and growth capabilities. You will work closely with both the management teams of the portfolio companies and the investment team.

You will lead the onboarding process, translate strategic goals into practical reporting and control structures, and guide both the portfolio companies and the investment team through the change process. In doing so, you create impact, lay the foundation for data-driven value creation, and ensure that reporting and monitoring systems truly work in practice. Together with the investment and controlling teams, you will help drive improvements and growth within both Quadrum Capital and its portfolio companies.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, solution-oriented, analytical, and resilient Business Controller who is capable of conducting in-depth financial analyses to support decision-making and performance improvement. You will take the lead and act as a trusted advisor to both the investment team and the management of the portfolio companies. Finally, you will play a key role in monitoring the progress of value creation plans, working closely with the investment team to make adjustments where needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate, implement, and guide onboarding projects focused on reporting and value creation monitoring within portfolio companies
• Monitor value creation plans and progress at portfolio companies
• Prepare, analyze, and critically assess business cases, investment proposals, and other key financial data, balancing strategic and financial considerations
• Develop and enhance management and business reporting tools (including Power BI, iLevel, and Excel)
• Strengthen data quality, systems, and automation across finance and IT
• Act as a sparring partner and change manager for CEOs, CFOs, and management teams
• Communicate effectively and constructively with a variety of stakeholders, even in complex or challenging situations

Your Profile

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in (business) controlling or consultancy
• A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration; a degree in Econometrics or an MBA is an advantage
• Proven experience with IT, data analysis, and business reporting (Excel, Power BI, ERP/BI tools)
• Strong affinity with technology, digitalization, and the use of AI in financial and operational processes
• Ability to analyze the impact of technological developments, translate these into actionable business insights, and challenge leadership accordingly
• Strong analytical and communication skills; effective at C-level and within change processes
• Experience with transformation and implementation projects in private equity, scale-ups, or growth organizations is a plus
• Proactive, critical, curious, and entrepreneurial: you make an impact and know how to engage teams in change
• A strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality, focused on digitalizing and improving financial processes
• Full-time availability and willingness to travel to portfolio companies
